Veterans Writing Project 2024
The mission of the Writers Guild Foundation’s Veterans Writing Project is to identify emerging writers from United States military backgrounds and provide them with the tools and insights to nurture their passion for writing and successfully navigate the entertainment industry.We do this in two phases over a yearlong program: A weekend-long retreat, and monthly follow-up workshops and special events. Annual Appeal 2024
Founded in 1966, the Writers Guild Foundation preserves and promotes the history and craft of writing for the screen.Once a year, our Annual Appeal raises money in support of all that we do for the writing community, including the Veterans Writing Project, the Writers' Access Support Staff Training Program, our Volunteer and Mentorship Programs, and our Archive and Shavelson-Webb Library.Thank you for supporting the Writers Guild Foundation!
GivingTuesday at WGF - the Writers' Access Support Staff Training Program!
Founded in 2021 in partnership with TV writers and producers Tanya Saracho (Vida), Mike Royce (One Day at a Time), and Liz Hsiao Lan Alper (Day of the Dead), the Writers’ Access Support Staff Training Program is a first-of-its-kind initiative to support the full inclusion and employment of underrepresented groups in the television industry.The program’s mission is to provide writers who are BIPOC, LGBTQ+, disabled, and/or over the age of 50 with the tools and education to become a writers’ assistant and script coordinator.
