We at the WGF may have hit a pause on our live events, but thanks to technology, we’re aiming to provide more access to advice and knowledge from film and TV writers while we’re all social distancing. Over the last few weeks, we’ve been hosting free Zoom panels about craft and all things relevant to writers.
For this session, we go inside the writers room of the HBO variety series A Black Lady Sketch Show . Moderated by the show’s creator, showrunner, and star Robin Thede, learn about the writers’ comedic influences, how their room works, and their process for crafting and developing Season 1’s subversively hilarious sketches.
Panelists:
Robin Thede - Creator, Executive Producer, Writer, and Star
Lauren Ashley Smith - Head writer and Co-Executive Producer
Ashley Nicole Black - Writer and Star
Akilah Green - Writer
Holly Walker - Writer
Rae Sanni - Writer
Amber Ruffin - Writer
Brittani Nichols - Writer
Panel starts at 4pm Pacific time.
Space is limited so RSVP now. After signing up, you’ll receive information on how to access the Zoom panel.
