A fundraising campaign for The Writers Guild Foundation.
About This Campaign
We have teamed with leading production company Rideback and the Writers Guild Foundation to offer Black college and graduate-level student writers a fully paid internship program. This new opportunity creates a pipeline into the industry by providing creative and financial support as well as equitable access to student writers. Vetted by a rigorous committee of all Black industry readers, six talented student writers will spend eight weeks fine-tuning their writing samples under the guidance of an industry mentor, attend panels with key leaders, and gain invaluable experience in writers’ rooms.
Your donation will financially support the summer living costs and stipends for both our selected student-writers and program staff members. As an organization by students and for students, all funds will directly lift young diverse people into the entertainment industry.
Thank you for joining us in revolutionizing the outdated, discriminatory internship model of Hollywood. Together, we can create an inclusive industry that reflects the world we live in.
Campaign to Support The Writers Guild Foundation
Founded in 1966, the Writers Guild Foundation is the premier resource for emerging writers and movie and TV lovers in Hollywood. Boasting a busy calendar of high-value events and a vast, seemingly bottomless toolbox for writers, the Foundation is unmatched in its mission to promote and preserve the craft, history, and voices of screen storytelling. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we’re proud of all we do for the community, including our Veterans Writing Project, our Volunteer and Mentorship Programs, our Archive, and the Shavelson-Webb Library – the world’s only library devoted entirely to writing for the screen.
