What actually happens at each level of a TV writers' room and what does it take to not just break in, but move up? Join showrunner Erica Montolfo-Bura (The Game, The Connors, The Neighborhood) for an interactive conversation that walks the ladder from staff writer to showrunner, one rung at a time.
Erica will share what she's learned about being a great staff writer, how the job grows from story editor through executive producer, and why running a show means being the CEO of an entire production. She'll also share practical strategies on how to approach your first script assignment, what writers' assistants and script coordinators really do, and the skills writers learn along the way to become exceptional showrunners.
This workshop will be held in-person on December 2 at the WGAW HQ in Los Angeles. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Event starts at 7 p.m. In order to encourage attendee participation, this workshop will not be recorded.
